Before coming to the United States, I didn鈥檛 know that financing my own education was going to be such an obstacle, mostly when my dad鈥檚 cancer caught us off guard, yet again. I know that he won鈥檛 be able to visit me, but there鈥檚 nothing I wouldn鈥檛 do to see him again and make him proud. I didn't want to make a video about his illness, because I don't want to "use" it to look for sympathy. This video is about me, as an individual who believes in dreams and hard work. If I win this contest, I would use the money to go back to my country and see him. I know that life is not easy for any of us. But I still manage to find joy in humanity, in the way the sun rises and sets, and this beautiful planet we鈥檝e been given. I have been blessed with the ability to speak, and filming will make my voice louder.
